Reach Montessori Preschool – Practical Life Learning
Every day, your child builds real independence through hands-on activities like pouring, scooping, and scrubbing. These simple exercises do more than they might seem — they build control and coordination, strengthen the small muscles needed for writing, and give children a genuine sense of accomplishment. Alongside these skills, we introduce lessons in grace and courtesy, helping children understand what’s expected of them in the classroom and in the world around them. Practical Life also nurtures care for oneself and for our shared environment, helping each child feel a true sense of belonging and responsibility within our classroom community

Reach Montessori Preschool – Sensorial Learning
Children take in so much of the world through their senses, and our sensorial materials help them make sense of it all. Using specially designed materials like long rods, cylinder blocks, constructive triangles, and the binomial cube, children learn to notice and categorize the qualities that make up their world — size, color, texture, temperature, and both flat and 3D shapes. It’s a beautiful, hands-on way for young minds to organize their understanding of everything around them.

Reach Montessori Preschool – Language Learning
Language comes alive both one-on-one and in group settings. Children build oral language skills through storytelling, songs, and playful verbal games like I Spy and question games that get them thinking and talking. In individual lessons, children begin developing early writing skills using metal insets, while phonics lessons lay the groundwork for reading.

Reach Montessori Preschool – Mathematics Learning
Math starts simple and grows naturally. Children begin by connecting quantities to symbols, starting with the numbers one through ten, then move on to linear counting and an introduction to the decimal system. Once these foundations feel solid, children explore addition and subtraction with both large and small numbers. From there, more advanced concepts like fractions, measurement, and money are introduced in group lessons and reinforced through individual, hands-on practice.

Reach Montessori Preschool – Art Learning
Throughout the year, your child gets to discover the work of well-known artists — each one bringing something different, from bold colors to unique styles. After learning about an artist, the children dive into hands-on projects inspired by what they’ve seen, building skills like cutting, gluing, painting, and working with collage and clay along the way. Every month brings a new daily craft project, so there’s always something fresh for little hands to create
Reach Montessori Preschool – Science Learning
Curiosity comes to life here! Through fun, hands-on activities, your child gets to explore the wonders of the world around them — like the difference between solids, liquids, and gases, why some things stick to a magnet and others don’t, and what makes an object sink or float. They even get to try simple, safe experiments, like watching baking soda and vinegar fizz, seeing how a mild acid like ketchup reacts with a copper penny, and mixing colors to see new ones appear. It’s science made simple, hands-on, and exciting for young minds.
Reach Montessori Preschool – Music Learning
We introduce children to the wide, wonderful world of music every day! From country to traditional to classical, your child experiences a variety of musical styles and begins learning the basics of the music scale through song, along with simple musical terms. Circle time is always a favorite — it’s when children get to sing their favorite songs and express themselves freely. Each month, we introduce a different composer, adding a special layer of discovery to our music curriculum. Even during quiet work and nap time, gentle music plays in the background, helping children build a natural awareness of different musical styles.
Composers we explore include:
- Haydn
- Mozart
- Beethoven
- Liszt
- Brahms
Reach Montessori Preschool – History and Geography
At this age, history comes alive through your child’s own experiences. Children explore their personal story and help keep a running “history” of their classroom together. Through calendar work and concepts like today, tomorrow, and yesterday, they begin to build a real understanding of time. We also introduce meaningful holidays and important dates along the way.
Geography is a favorite monthly theme, too! Children learn about land, air, and water and how these come together to form our planet, along with an introduction to each continent — including the food, clothing, and homes found there. Along the way, we also explore animals, climates, and landscapes from around the world.
Reach Montessori Preschool – Zoology and Botany
Your child gets to become a young explorer of the natural world! We study animal families including horses, fish, insects, and reptiles — learning about their habitats, what they eat, and the names of their body parts. On the plant side, children discover the parts of a plant, leaf, and root, building an early appreciation for the living world around them.
